BIO

Horace Julian Bond, born on January 14, 1940, in Nashville, Tennessee. His father Horace Mann Bond became president of Lincoln University in Oxford, Pennsylvania. In 1957, Bond enrolled at Atlanta's Morehouse College, where he helped found The Pegasus, a literary magazine, and interned at TIME magazine. In 1965, he was elected to Georgia's state legislature. Bond later served as the head of the Southern Poverty Law Center and of the NAACP. 

Violence is black children going to school for 12 years and receiving 6 years' worth of education.
